What you will do:
This position is for a Program Manager of new product development within the Johnson Controls Chiller Product Business Unit which is a segment of the Global Products Applied Equipment business.

The role of the Program Manager is to manage a group of regional or global projects in a coordinated way with minimal supervision to obtain control and benefits for the business that are not usually achieved by managing projects independently. This position is viewed as an emerging leader on issues that relate to program management within the business.  
How you will do it:
•Use the Johnson Controls stage-gate product development process to manage risks throughout the program/project lifecycle 
•Initiate, plan, execute, control and close programs to deliver project scope within established targets for budget, quality and time to market.
•Lead cross-functional, global and diverse project teams.
•Plan for, and acquire, necessary resources and coordinate the efforts of core, extended and support team members, contractors or consultants in order to deliver programs according to plan.
•Coach, mentor and motivate project team members to take positive action and accountability for assigned work.
•Create and deliver progress reports, presentations and project status updates via project scoreboards/dashboards, management reviews, and project team meetings
•Identify, escalate and help resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
•Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path(s).
•Communicate and work closely with other program managers, functional managers and executive leadership to achieve program goals.
•Leverage (or help develop) best practices and tools to aid in project execution and management.

What we look for:
•Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering or related field with 5 years of experience in project management or leading technical teams/projects in a functional management role
•Experience creating and managing a schedule, assigning project tasks, facilitating project meetings and formulating resource plans.
•Experience with managing local or regionally-distributed cross functional project teams.
•Technically competent with project management software tools and concepts (such as Microsoft Project) and the Microsoft software suite.
•Ability to travel internationally for the purpose of meeting with team members, stakeholders, or off-site personnel and management.

Ideal or Preferred
•Experience with managing globally-distributed cross functional project teams.
•Direct work experience within the HVAC industry
•Experience using collaboration platforms (e.g. Microsoft Teams) and work management platforms (e.g. Daptiv, Smartsheet, Wrike)
