What you will do

Do you like guiding and assisting diverse teams of technical contributors? Are you comfortable reporting out to Big Three Automotive customers over Skype or in person updating on relevant APQP requirements? Would you like to be part of delivering state-of-the-art fuel saving solutions to a diverse customer base? In this role you will lead the achievement of PPAP deliverables using core APQP tools to complement your team’s contributions.  Your immediate leader (Manager of Advance Quality Engineering US-CAN) will build upon the solid tool set you bring/provide adding experience, training, and insights that will stretch you and enable your utmost accomplishments.


Our successful launch of a constant stream of new products is directly impacted by the successful candidate. Your skills ensure our success at meeting all CSR’s (Customer specific requirements).

Based on assignment, our AQEIII drives Advance Quality Swimlane deliverables and actively supports launch meetings to provide input and guidance at each step of the product launch process.

Johnson Controls,  has never had a more exciting and vital slate of new battery products undergoing launch, ranging from Start-Stop Automotive applications for state-of-the-art Lithium-Ion 12V and 48V technologies and advanced AGM ( absorbent glass matt) products as well as performance enhanced variations of well-known flooded SLI batteries.

How you will do it

We will build upon your constant desire to be accurate and thorough to build PPAP book content that is bullet proof. You and those around you will spot your success as you produce customer tailored plans and reports that follow the Program deliverables strategy.

Our AQEIII’s work with and across virtually all levels of the organization and they excel by listening, understanding, and delivering fact based evidence of compliance excellence.

Inside the QA team is a strong set of professionals that help each other, brainstorm, and share generously from experiences to find mutually beneficial ways to serve the customer.

What we look for
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or related.
  • 4 Years minimum experience using APQP core tools in a Tier 1 manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working within a large team and communicating effectively across multiple organizational levels. 
  • Demonstrated ability to transition effectively from team support to team facilitation to team lead as required.
  • Solid MS Office tools and demonstrable Minitab18 skills.
  • Engineering is preferred with 4+ of years APQP direct customer engagement experience, including Tier 1 automotive and/or chemical process industries experience.
  • Ability to teach APQP core tools deliverables such as DFMEA, Process Flow, MSA, IPC and other aspects of product launch deliverables.
  • Understanding of quality manual policies and procedures as well as IATF 16949 compliance.
  • Maturity of technical skills relating to problem solving within complex electro-mechanical-chemical product systems.
  • Familiarity with SAP.
  • Proficiency in negotiation skills (tactics, techniques, strategies) in collaborating with internal and external customers.
