What you will do
We have an exciting opportunity for a Buyer – Fire Detection Products to join Procurement team.  Reporting to the Pacific Director of Procurement, this position will be responsible for the supplier relationships and procurement of 3rd party materials for the Fire Detection area of Australia and New Zealand. This position is responsible for an annual spend exceeding $10M from a supply base of over 50 suppliers. Develop, align, and implement several different supply chain strategies to deliver the most cost-effective methods for dealing with and maintaining a strong relationship with key local suppliers used by our Fire Detection business and develop savings plans to increase year of year savings. Your major responsibilities are; however not limited to;
  • Meet or exceed profit plan goals related to:  Cost Savings, TWC, quality, supplier rationalization, and other agreed objectives
  • Create alignment between our global category management team and the unique/specific needs of our regional field offices during category strategy development.
  •  Collaborate with the business to identify and bring forward new/critical products and services to expand the product offerings.
  • Control and improve the traceability and transparency of purchasing related savings
  •  Support efforts concerning supply base rationalization and supplier development
  • Guarantee compliance with BOS procedures and DoA requirements
  •  Develop and report business metrics that measure the performance according to business objectives.
  • Perform other duties as required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. 4-7 years of procurement experience with a focus on electronic components and equipment and service and/or fire Protection and /or security Industries.  
  • Experience in Category Management in the mechanical or Electric Products area. 
  • Experience in cost analysis and strong financial knowledge preferred. Good PC / software knowledge/skills
