What you will do

Operational
  • Promote and demonstrate the JCI values.
  • Contract administration
  • Bid/tender evaluation, working with sales to ensure estimates are costed in line with the contracted scope.
  • Procurement of subcontractor and supplier agreements in line with National procurement strategy to improve project margin.
  • Cost control, budget monitoring and reporting via weekly cost to complete.
  • Progress claims variations and payments to improve project margins
  • Processing, negotiation, and agreement of final accounts
  • Liaising with the project manager, clients, architects, and other key stakeholders
  • Motivate the operational staff in each of these areas to achieve or exceed budgeted performance targets.
  • Actively be involved in the regular forecasting of results as required by company policy.
  • Report weekly and monthly in the prescribed format the activities of the projects.
  • Promote a Customer Care culture in the organisation.
  • Ensure that all business you are involved in is carried out professionally and ensure that any risk to the company is minimised.
Staff
  • Assist in providing a rewarding and fulfilling working environment for all staff
  • Provide enthusiastic and energetic leadership of cost, purchasing and variation activity in the project environment.
  • Encourage initiative, company loyalty, and participation in company programs
  • Review staff on a regular basis to monitor their progress and to implement any programs to maximise their effectiveness
  • Ensure that all staff work in a safe working environment and follow all health and safety guidelines
  • Report all health and safety incidents to the appropriate authorities immediately
  • Chair regular, minuted group meetings to discuss any globally applicable items
Customers
  • Take all steps practical to ensure that JCI is held in the highest regards by our clients
  • Actively promote the products and services of JCI in the marketplace
  • Promote work outside of your department and immediately pass all enquiries to the appropriate department
  • Liaise and follow up with clients to ensure their satisfaction
  • Actively pursue new clients to increase the JCI client base
  • Pass on any opportunities for the company that you may come across to the appropriate manager
Administration
  • Ensure work carried out is invoiced correctly
  • Liaise with the credit control department and coordinate and participate in whatever steps are required to be taken to reduce the outstanding debts to the lowest possible level
  • Close jobs, take profit, close purchase orders and other administrative duties required to maintain a tidy ledger
  • Participate in the quantifying of upcoming budgets, if required
  • Formulate plans to meet and exceed financial targets
  • Forecast upcoming months financial figures within the time frames set out- weekly
  • Promptly advise Installations manager of any future shortcomings and the reason why so that corrective action can be taken
  • Assist in maximising the utilisation of our human and technical resources

What we look for

Required:
  • 5+ Years Procurement/Estimation/Financial experience
  • 5+ Years contract negotiation experience
  • Relevant management / commercial tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience in Project Estimation/Financials
  • Extensive contract negotiation experience.
  • Understanding of the Building Security of Payment Act across the States.
  • Extensive and demonstrated experience in project delivery methodologies
  • High degree of computer literacy
  • Driver’s licence is essential
  • Travel may be required
