What you will do
This position has been designed to support Johnson Controls’ business in China by building strong gov’t relations. The incumbent is expected to build gov’t relations at central, provincial and municipal level and enable business development in China.

How you will do it
  • Develop a government affairs strategy to support Johnson Controls’ business and corporate reputation in China
  • Monitor central and local government regulations, policies and incentives and work with business and functions to capitalize on opportunities
  • Provide insights and implications of government policies that are pertinent to the business
  • Partner with business and functions to implement strategic and systematic government relations building programs
  • Support and help drive business development activities with provincial and local governments
  • Consistently calibrate around the strategic government relationships with business owners and commercial organizations.
  • Lead and drive initiatives and programs that support corporate functions in Shanghai

What we look for
  • 12-15 years of solid experience in managing the government affairs agenda for large multinational companies in China
  • Strong business acumen. Previous experience of working for B2B industry preferred.
  • Be an expert on Chinese government systems and dynamics with strong existing relationships with Shanghai, Beijing, Guangdong, Sichuan, Chongqing, Shenzhen, etc.
  • Be capable of analyzing the impact of gov’t policy and form lobby agenda to advance JCI’s business
  • Proven capability to deliver results through a large, multi-functional organization
  • Managerial experience in a highly matrix and results oriented environment is required.
  • Previous experience in a government organization preferred
  • Strong communications and negotiation skills.
  • Good English and Chinese language skills.

  • Undergraduate and/or Post graduate degree in engineering, business administration, marketing, communications or legal.
