The Role 

We have an amazing opportunity for an Environmental, Health and Safety Advisor to join our Shared Service Team based in Wellington. This role is responsible for assisting the business to ensure and maintain compliance with legislation and business policies and procedures with the objective of minimising accidents, injuries and environmental damage. You will cover the full remit of EHS functions, specifically: 

  • Assist the business with conducting effective risk assessments and provide advice and support in risk mitigation 
  • Compile and deliver training programs to both frontline and management staff 
  • Coordinate and lead incident investigations for the purpose of identifying the root causes for the incident and the corrective actions required to prevent a recurrence 
  • Assist with the implementation of the EHS audit program for the purpose of reviewing EHS performance and work practices against statutory and Company requirements 
  • Identify risk and non-compliance issues that may have a significant impact on the business and ensure that activities regularly focus on these risks. 

Our ideal candidate must have at least 3 – 5 years' experience working as a full-time EHS Coordinator in a large multi-discipline organisation, be ready for the level role in addition to: 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to interact with all business levels 
  • Proven interpersonal skills 
  • High level of computer literacy, especially Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Independent, self-motivated and able to cope with a heavy workload 
  • Efficient time management skills with a high attention to detail 
  • Confident, enthusiastic, level headed, well presented 
  • Ability to travel both within Wellington and New Zealand as required
