What you will do

Focus on the hands-on implementation and coordination of EHS but also encompasses the management of facilities. Lead and manage the development of a world-class safe operation and facilities function through a highly skilled, capable and flexible workforce.

How you will do it

  • Lead adherence to all company EHS policies and best practice
  • Ensure continued certification or actively pursue gaining certification with ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001
  • Coordinate EHS training for all staff
  • Lead risk assessment updates and audits
  • Lead the development of SOPs to include relevant safety precautions
  • Prepare, collate EHS data, input, update and maintain records
  • Update Management on changes to business, national or international EHS procedures & policies and ensure compliance
  • Lead the timely completion of Accident and Near-miss investigations
  • Manage Facilities issues, external suppliers and contractors
  • Take the Lead in Site EHS meeting when required
  • Ensure the requirements of the Environment, Health and Safety Policy are understood and adhered to
  • Ensure that all incidents, hazards or potential hazards are reported and addressed promptly
  • Lead the ongoing development of site EHS policies and procedures
  • Ensure all areas have up to date and accurate risk assessments
  • Ensure EHS communication boards are updated to keep site information up to date
  • Manage internal and 3rd party EHS audits to ensure compliance
  • Establish and monitor annual EHS goals
  • Behave ethically and question the ethics of business practices
  • Prepare annual budgets for maintenance of buildings & services and reduce operating costs
  • Manage building and grounds maintenance
  • Manage and control all agreed work by contractors to satisfactory completion
  • Planning best allocation and utilisation of space and resources
  • Maintain a positive working environment
  • Support the wider Site Leadership Team
  • Improve personal performance and the performance of team colleagues

What we look for

  • HND or Equivalent qualification in technical subject
  • NEBOSH EHS Certificate
  • 2+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience managing Health & Safety systems
  • Experience in Facilities Management and managing third party suppliers & contractors
  • Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Drive continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of latest relevant EHS Legislation, including HASAWA, EU Six-pack
  • Application of Quality Management Systems and ISO9000
