What you will do

The Payroll Specialist, reporting into the Payroll Manager, is responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day services are delivered according to both in house and contractual requirements in terms of timeliness, quality and in line with the agreed service levels (SLAs). The position is responsible for direct payroll provider escalation and advising the Payroll leadership team concerning potential risks relating to payroll. The role is also responsible for ensuring fluid end-to-end processes between on site, in country, cross business, vendor and Johnson Controls leadership representatives and responsibilities.
This role includes processing the records of employees' payments and reviewing them for accuracy. This position would act as an escalation point and consult with the businesses to correct errors. This role would also be responsible for monitoring the third party’s gross to net calculations in accordance with the pay calendar deadlines. Applying controls and performing audits throughout the payroll process and reconciling payments is a critical part of this role.
This position would produce payroll reports for informational, analytical and costing purposes. This role would be responsible for compliance assurance, updates and testing. The position would also reconcile payroll budgets and help accountants and business managers with their payroll responsibilities


How you will do it
- Involved in the day-to-day processing operation to ensure local service delivery happens as agreed
- Manages the relationship between the department, the business and the outsourcing partner
- Determining own work priorities in accordance with the workload, deadlines and change requests
- Monitors outsourced partner’s service delivery and ensures SLAs are met
- Provides payroll and reporting support
- Monitors service ‘gaps’ and areas of concern and improves services together with the local team and the Service Delivery Director

What we look for
- Excellent knowledge of payroll and associated taxes and statutory filings
- Excellent research and problem solving skills
- Ability to investigate end-to-end impacts of payroll dependencies and processing in order to make clear decisions on risks
- Intermediate level with Excel preferred
- Ability to independently resolve variances and potential disputes between Johnson Controls and outside parties including regulatory institutions and providers
- Ability to plan, organize and schedule work flow in a short time frame
- Strong analytical and system experience would be an advantage
- Ability to calculate changes to pay rates based on time off, overtime, etc.
- Ability to gather data from multiple sources
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent language skills – both oral and written
- Experience in payroll and payroll tax processes
