What you will do:


The Business Intelligence (BI) Engineering Analyst identifies business intelligence, reporting, and data analysis needs.  They work with business and IT teams to determine business requirements, priorities, define key performance indicators (KPI), and develop and translate data into critical information and knowledge.  This includes working with business and development teams to design, and document dashboards, alerts, and reports.


The BI Analyst builds an understanding of the business at a level of detail that enables them to provide data that is accurate, consistent and reliable. They are responsible to ensure the information is easily available to users for direct consumption or integration with other systems. 


BI Engineering Analysts provide training in how to use the data as an analytical tool.

This individual is accountable for providing leadership and independent initiatives in facilitating information gathering, structured documentation and presentation of findings to all levels of management.  They conduct analysis of functional processes and requirements and develop business cases and recommendations that support process changes and/or IT projects.


 How you will do it:


Leads discovery processes with stakeholders to identify the business requirements and the expected outcome.

Models and frames business scenarios that are meaningful and which impact critical business processes and/or decisions.

Identifies what data is available and relevant, including internal and external data sources, leveraging data collection methodologies.

Utilizes patterns and variations in the volume, speed and other characteristics of data and applies advanced statistical and predictive modeling techniques to build, maintain, and improve business services.

Defines the validity of the information and other relevant data to assess with the business enhanced qualification, assurance and necessity of services provided.

Designs and delivers training to IT supporters and executives in proper use of information to transform data into action-oriented objectives. 

Provides business metrics to measure that IT services are compliant with enterprise policies and legal requirements and that supporting IT infrastructure, processes, tools, and roles are appropriate for the agreed targets.

Consults and contributes to service design planning to ensure data elements exist and are feasible to measure service as fit for purpose.


What we look for:


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management or specialized training/certification. Or equivalent work experience

5 or more years of relevant quantitative and qualitative research and analytics experience

Demonstrable experience using MS Power BI, DAX, PowerQuery

Knowledge of dimensional modeling in Power BI (SSAS/AAS a plus)

SQL & Data Analysis (proficiency in evaluating data content, rules/transformations, and quality)

Data Architecture/Analysis (understanding of Database Architectures for OLAP/OLTP and DB design components)

Strong Reporting & Visualization skills (analytical, historical, operational)

Solid knowledge of statistical techniques.

Experience with and understanding of Active Directory, networking, systems management (i.e. SCCM), security and similar products used in support of desktop computing environments.
