What you will do

The Global Supplier Quality Engineer (GSQE) monitors, evaluates, selects, and applies standard quality engineering principles and techniques to assigned business problems, and ensures that the results meet established needs and goals.

As a GSQE you will report directly to the Supplier Quality Manager for EMEA. How you will do it

As a member of the Supplier Quality team, you will work within a dynamic environment that provides a high-level of exposure and influence, while supporting multiple varied business units. The activities and responsibilities within the role will include the following:

  • Travel to Supplier locations to conduct onsite assessments and to address critical issues (travel requirement up to 60%, including international).
  • Work remotely with the JCI locations to identify and address significant supplier quality issues.
  • Support the deployment, gathering and reporting of monthly quality metrics.
  • Support product engineering teams and the resolution of top warranty issues and in the application of advanced statistical analysis, problem solving techniques and Quality tools.
  • Facilitate utilization of APQP with manufacturing and engineering organizations supporting supplier related activities.
  • Responsible for validating and verifying corrective actions within the supply base.
  • Act as a liaison between Procurement and Product group leadership to support supplier warranty and quality initiatives including cost recovery.
  • Develop supplier quality roadmaps leading to improved supplier performance metrics.
  • Support the Production Development Process through implementation of Supplier Safe Launch, PPAP and participation in Project teams.
  • Lead and manage cross functional project teams using standard project management techniques to drive toward corrective and preventive actions.
  • Train key suppliers and project team members in critical competencies necessary for project realization.

What we look for


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, Management or equivalent experience in Manufacturing.
  • Supplier Quality or Supply Chain knowledge required.
  • Possess strong oral, written, and listening communication skills, and team building skills
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or field service environment.  


  • DMAIC (Blackbelt/Greenbelt) training, Lean manufacturing experience, problem solving training (Kepner Tregoe, 8D or Shainin), strong facilitation skills, working knowledge of APQP techniques.
  • AQC CQE certification desired.
