What you will do
  • Provides device certification and testing for critical alarm signaling devices (Receivers, Panels, etc).
  • Provides backup level 2/3 technical support for signal monitoring receiver, signal processing devices and applications., develops internal improvements, and achieves high customer satisfaction
  • Test, certification, planning and support for new alarm signaling devices, new software releases and configuration changes.
How you will do it
  • Maintain signal monitoring testing/certification lab
  • Install, configure, and test new devices, software, features, and functionality
  • Provide feedback and defect reports to JCI product management and to device manufacturers.
  • Document JCI supported equipment configurations for both central station and customer premise equipment.
  • Provide Level 2/3 technical support for signal monitoring receiver, signal processing devices and application
  • Ensure system uptime and availability
  • Ensure rapid-response on-call services
  • Participates in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 Level 2/3 support for signal monitoring equipment/applications
  • Manage new software updates and  enhancements (patch/upgrades)
  • Provide applications assistance to technical teams and the business
  • Perform build or expansion of applications hardware
  • Communicate on trouble resolution
  • Document product build/change
  • Partner with business on future business needs, strategy, planning
  • Document and solution enhancement requests (liaison to supplier)
  • Provide Level 2/3 technical support for signal monitoring receiver, signal processing devices and application
  • Utilizes exceptional written and verbal communications skill to document test results and supported configurations.
  • Contributes to development and execution of strategic plans as a highly skilled team member
  • Solutions that optimize applications and service platform resources across company needs, business constraints, and technological realities
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Provide thought leadership on new and emerging needs and technologies

What we look for
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in the design and maintenance of complex application environments
  • Deep knowledge and several years of experience with industry specific alarm signaling devices (Receivers, Panels, etc).
  • Advanced experience with IT Signaling systems and receiving infrastructure
  • Knowledge of IT monitoring, video and access control infrastructure and applications.
  • Due to sensitive security exposure all candidates must be a US citizen on US soil
  • 5% travel required
  • Some weekend and evening hours (as needed)
  • Superior communication skills with the ability to present technical topics to vendors, team members, and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to interface with other teams as needed.
  • Strong service attitude and a commitment to quality
  • Must be highly motivated, competent and able to work independently
  • Superior problem assessment and troubleshooting skills based on years of experience with multiple technologies.
  • Problem solving skills should extend beyond technological to also interpersonal, establishing partnerships where needed
  • Must demonstrate sound judgment, pragmatic and rapid approaches to strategy and implementation
  • Basic understanding of NFPA72 and UL requirements
