Role Description:  Kronos Solution Architect

The successful candidate will be part of the Corporate IT Kronos COE team to deliver Kronos projects, carrying out design, build and test activities in support of time solution deployments.  The Kronos Solution Architect provides leadership and direction to the on-site and or offshore implementation team on the design and execution of the solution and definition of business process workflows that accompany the solution. The aim of this role is to take ownership of a solution within an implementation project and architect software solutions that solve the customer’s business problem, while generating maximum value for the customer.  The ideal candidate will provide functional and technical subject matter expertise and be accountable for the business requirements gathering, best application configuration, and be responsible for ensuring that the solution design meets those business requirements. The candidate will work with a team of IT and business resources (both internal and external) with a high level of expertise in time tracking.  The focus of this role will be deployments of Kronos in EMEA and Asia, although work on enterprise initiatives and/or North America and LATAM may be required.

Responsibilities

  • In partnership with Business Process Owners and Business Leadership on time management business requirements gathering and to translate Statement of Requirement into design for Kronos time solutions.
  • Design and build solutions involving Kronos time applications, by recommending the most optimal system and process design. This includes latest functionality of Kronos and its cloud architecture.
  • Participate in the fit gap analysis during the blueprint phase and during the deployment readiness phases. Translating of business process and master data requirements and functional knowledge into technical requirements
  • Develop functional specifications for system changes, design high quality solutions to meet the functional requirements. he/she will work closely with the development team to ensure accurate and timely code that matches the designs
  • Perform system configuration and manual set up needed to implement the solution
  • Deliver Kronos solutions for complex programs/ projects including all aspects of the SDLC (e.g. Blue Print, Design, Build, Test, documentation)
  • Coordination of test planning and execution to ensure that the solutions being developed are SOX compliant, to follow the project release management guidelines
  • Participate in the creation and on-going review of training materials for initial design and future changes
  • Work with the business process and data teams to support data cleansing and data conversion activities for Kronos solutions
  • Partner with non-Kronos IT teams to deliver high-quality and robust end-to-end solution integrations in an efficient and timely manner
  • Support the cutover activities and troubleshooting during the launch and the hyper care period.
  • Partner with the Kronos COE AMS team to transition completed projects for ongoing support
  • Work with the IT Security function to ensure that all JCI global applications have the required levels of security and protection of JCI's business information.
  • For current & future initiatives in time management domain, provide domain specific end-to-end solution architecture, template governance and define solution design approaches for Kronos and related application ecosystems.
  • Provides advice to customers regarding industry best practices and process methodology and has the ability to become a "trusted advisor" to the customer
  • Ability to prepare and deliver presentations for user, management, and executive level audiences
  • Develops functional specifications for interfaces, reports and screens that meet the customers' business objectives and are of sound design
  • Creates detailed tasks on overall project plan (i.e. during sales cycle, after the project plan is complete, or based on enhancements)
  • Ensures that all projects issues/risks are highlighted to the Project Manager and assists in resolving issues and mitigating risks
  • Provides primary user support and verifies that the system provides the required business functions and maintains data integrity
  • Serves as a functional liaison and attends and contributes to key meetings between Project Manager, key customer contacts, and customer users, up to and including key executive project sponsors
  • Assists in mentoring junior resources and practice/community initiatives within JCI
  • Communicates and/or supports the business cases to Product Management and Product Development regarding specific trends for future product functionality and enhancements
  • Ensures knowledge transfer is conducted with key customer project team
  • Recognizes and highlights incremental revenue opportunities with existing customers / projects and assists in sales efforts

 

Skills

•     Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline with an IT focus.

•     6+ years’ experience in Kronos or other time system implementation and business support. Must have full life cycle experience in large implementations.

•     Expertise in time tracking methods and approaches within manufacturing and service line of business

•     Extensive experience in business customer-facing IT or other non-IT role related to the time function.  Or, previous experience in business process re-engineering or process improvement, involving broad-based information systems, utilizing tools and techniques to effect business change.

•     Experience with integrations of time solutions to HR, Payroll, Service and other applications.

•     Experience working with specialized Kronos and third-party modules/add-ons/applications

•     Well-versed with Kronos master data set-up and technical components, necessary for successful functioning with complex “standard” and “custom” processes

•     Ability to analyze functional and technical needs and identify gaps and alternative solutions relative to existing design

•     Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to multi-task

•     Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-team environment

•     Excellent communication skills required at all levels. Must be able to interact and impact senior leadership.  Excellent command of verbal and written communication (English).  Effective presentation style for all levels of stakeholders.

•     Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple concurrent deliverables of team/SME, developed internal/external relationship, established cross-team partnership. Experience leading large complex cross-functional programs

•     Is a thought leader in their Product Solution area of focus and is able to apply that knowledge to customer situations
