Job Title:          Maintenance Lead
Location:          Carrollton, Texas
Reports To:       Warehouse Supervisor
FLSA Status:    Non-Exempt

POSITION OVERVIEW

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and
maintaining machinery and equipment, and in fabricating metal parts and tools by performing the
following duties.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Directs workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
Directs workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
Requisitions and keeps supply of spare parts.
Modifies programming of robots and related equipment such as robot controllers and programmable controllers.
Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of
product.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop,
department, or work crew.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
Maintains time and production records.
Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
Performs activities of workers supervised.
Other duties may be assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises several employees in the maintenance area. Carries out Lead responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, (in cooperation with Warehouse Supervisor + Human Resources) and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as area and circumference, and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or

diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized

situations. Ability to adhere to delegation of authority and lead by instructions of management and

supervision.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

None required.


COMPUTER SKILLS

Preferred knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word using MS Windows platform.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Less than 10% required.


OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, overtime before and after shifts and on weekends. Ability to work as part of a team, including all related departments/plants or independently as required achieving internal and external customer satisfaction.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.  The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
