Responsibility Level:


  • In charge of defining the product strategy for all JCH product lines and to deliver the product roadmap in order to reach JCH growth objectives.
  • Accountable for establishing a leadership position for JCH by defining Japan chiller (scroll and screw types) and refrigerator roadmap for Japan market.


Principle duties:



  • Market Analysis:
    • Work with JBU/HGLS PP to analyze markets and trends (Market demands, regulations, channels.) in order to detect the best growth opportunities for JCH.
    • Collect Voice of Customer by collaborating with JBU/HGLS PP to ensure our offering fits with customer, sales and channel requirements.
    • Carry out market research.
    • Collect and consolidate technical requirements such as performance, controls, refrigerant and certifications.
    • Analyze competitors’ offering.
    • Work closely with JCH global chiller PM to leverage offerings for global market, helping JCH to get a comprehensive line card globally.


  •  Product Strategy:
    • Define JCH Japan chiller and refrigerator product strategy to achieve growth and profitability targets.
    • Envision JCH Japan chiller and refrigerator positioning. Ensure product innovation and differentiation.
    • Drive Gaps analysis by Japan market and product type, especially for customized product.
    • Work closely and coordinate efforts with our RDI team to develop the appropriate technology roadmap to serve our Japan chiller and refrigerator product strategy.
    • Work closely and coordinate efforts with JCH global chiller PM to set the global chiller strategy by sharing platform, key technology and components, etc.



  • Product Roadmap:
    • Collect market requirements and prioritize. Find out best opportunities in our product development plan.
    • Conduct quantitative and financial business analysis to develop business cases, then present recommendations to senior management and gain approval for development of Japan chiller and refrigerator products and offerings.
    • Engage with manufacturing and other functional leaders to define the best manufacturing site. Engage in costing analysis.


  • Product Development:
    • Deliver Product Vision summarizing features, specification, cost and time to market, to Engineering team and Project Management team in order to kick off product development.
    • Ensure targets and market requirements are fully understood by the development team.
    • Participate in the product development through Gate reviews of our Product Development Process (PDP).
    • Always ensure that expectations of customers and channels will be satisfied.


  • Sales Enablement:
    • Work with JBU/HGLS and Product Marketing team to define the needs in terms of sales support tools.
    • Work with JBU and prepare the training materials for new products, participate to elaborate the material (.ppt) with support of Engineering team and marketing team.
    • Participate to product launch, collect feedback of customers and channel during field events.
    • Follow new product introduction performances.


  • Lifecycle Management
    • Collaborate with finance to Review and understand overall portfolio performance.
    • Collaborate with JBU to review and understand Market Share and Channel performance.
    • Rationalize the offerings.
    • Detect cost down needs on existing range to meet profitability expectations.
    • Propose products improvement.
    • Define the right timing for phase out of products that don’t meet the financial targets or market expectations


  • Good knowledge about Japan Japan chiller and refrigerator products.
  • Knowledge about Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) applications.
  • Demonstrate leadership, ability to communicate with impact and strategic thinking.
  • Demonstrate ability to navigate and build relationship in large matrix organization, across multiple cultures, multiple locations, and diverse set of internal and external stakeholders.
  • A previous experience in Sales or other customer facing roles is a plus.
  • Fluent Japanese. Other languages are a plus (English, Chinese especially).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, Power point).
