What you will do:
Working under the framework of Johnson Controls Continuous Improvement system, will assess current state performance, identify gaps, visualize and establish a plan to get to the future state, monitor progress and share/acquire best-in-class ideas and systems.

How you will do it
•Identify gaps in Best Business Practice Metrics (BBP’s), and then work with all levels of the plant in establishing and executing a strategy for improving them.
•Assess the Current state of the plant’s Operations; Develop Future State vision and drive and monitor the implementation plan.
•Coaches CI / Manufacturing Engineering team, including Plant Staff, Lean Implementers, Black Belts, and Green Belts, to apply correct approach /DMAIC tools for improvement.
•Establishes C.I. Profit Plan and subsequent Forecast goals; Drives team to achieve.
•Ensures Process Owner involvement in SOW development and team leadership.
•Responsible for IDP and succession planning for all C.I. and Manufacturing Engineering Resources, including Lean Implementers and Black Belts.
•Using standard tracking and reporting systems, will prepare detailed pans, drive project performance, and assure timely completion and achievement of product/process quality and savings goals.
•Collaborate with leadership to develop a plant C.I. Roadmap, driving breakthrough or Best-in-Class performance that balances resources between internal plant efficiency and external customer-focused effectiveness projects through 1. Just DO It improvements, 2. Six Sigma projects, and 3. Lean Implementation projects.
•Assists Process Owners in identifying barriers to project success and helps to drive changes when needed.
•Support JCMS and continue developing the Continuous Improvement Culture and Value Stream Flow Principles,
•Assist Plant Manager in any strategic initiative that will help in compliance to standards, implementing new systems, and designing creative solutions that will continuously improve the plant.
•Is accountable to deliver the plant annual CI goals.
•Supports new product development and cost reduction initiatives.
•Supports and leads 5S activities.
•All other tasks as assigned.
What we look for
•This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of progressive, hands on manufacturing engineering experience. 
•Desirable Master’s Degree.
•A minimum of one (1) year HVAC experience is preferred. 
•This position also requires knowledge of formal problem solving methods along with experience with financial controls and product costing. 
•Previous experience with new products and process introductions along with a working knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and procedures is also required. 
•In the absence of a four (4) degree in engineering, a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience is required. 
•Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E-mail is required.
•The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 40 pounds. 
•Has demonstrated high-level performance in current and previous positions.
•Has shown initiative, the desire to drive change and is motivated to exceed expectations.
•Has solid leadership skills and able to manage both vertically and horizontally
•Possesses basic statistical knowledge and the ability to apply statistics to product and process improvement projects
•Has sufficient experience within the Company to be able to understand the organization and its business processes.
•Has at least a certification as a Green Belt and/or certification as a Lean Implementer.
•Has demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise influence without authority.
