What you will do
 

The Regional L3 Operations Manager leads a staff of network engineers and voice analysts who are accountable to JCI business customers in their designated region. The Regional L3 Operations Manager is responsible for delivering Network and Voice services using internal staff and external partners.  The role requires coordination with Network Delivery Peers in the other regions of the world to achieve global consistency amongst network and voice services.  Working together, Regional L3 Operations Manager leverage a “Follow the Sun” approach with the global team as the situation dictates.  It is incumbent upon the Regional Network Delivery Manager to ensure uniformity of services, adherence to standards, and consistency of infrastructure delivery.  The team works with external partners to deliver quality services to Internal and External Customers. 

 
 
 
How you will do it
 
Manage staff
  • Deliver service requests and perform incident management
  • Mentor and coach staff to achieve next-level success
  • Responsible for staff engagement and performance management
  • Employ Flawless Execution methodology
  • Ensure proper change management processes are followed for all changes
 
Manage Vendors
  • In coordination with the Vendor Relationship Manager, service requests and incidents delivered by vendors including Verizon and Avaya
  • Look for ways to leverage products and services from vendors
 
Manage Customers
  • Regular meetings with key customers to understand emerging needs
  • Maintain constructive relationship with customers to ensure that Global Infrastructure achieves high customer satisfaction
 

Coordinate with other Global Infrastructure functions

  • Coordinate with Business Hosting on delivery of robust network services in the data center including WAN, Internet, and Switching
  • Work with End User Computing to deliver robust network and voice performance especially over wireless networks
 

Oversee Service Management

  • Ensure high quality standards are achieved for all technology platforms in all regions utilizing internal staff in concert with external partners
 
Oversee Consultation
  • Facilitate meeting with application teams to select the most appropriate Network and Voice solutions
 

Oversee Problem Management

  • Work with partners to systematically identify Incidents that can be escalated into problems
  • Dive deep into problems to find root cause and preventative steps

What we look for
 
Required
 
 

•     Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

•     4+ years’ experience in network engineering and operations

•     Strong Cisco Routing/Switching configuration/diagnostic experience

•     Working understanding of code and scripting (Automation tools: Python, PowerShell, Rest API)

•     Experience with all Cisco LAN, WAN and WLAN technologies, VPN, load balancers, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, etc.

•     Knowledge of networking infrastructure suppliers and service offerings including; Cisco, F5 Networks, Zscaler, and Avaya.

•     Working knowledge of network features and protocols such as ie. spanning tree, TCP/IP V4/V6, SIP, ARP, CDP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, VTP, Etherchannel, 802.1Q trunking, MLS, HSRP, GLBP, VSS/VSL, QoS, Multicast, 802.11n/ac, IPsec, RADIUS/TACACS+, SNMP, NTP, and HTTPS, SSL.

•     Knowledge of Carrier Services – WAN Circuits, MPLS, VPNS, VRFs, Ethernet, OCx, DS3, Broadband

•     Experience in Meraki SD-WAN and NSX Software Defined Network Data Centers

•     Desire to work in a process-oriented environment

  • Demonstrated experience working in a global network environment

•     Responsible for the documentation and topology maps for all network components

 
 
Preferred
  • Desired Certifications: CCNA, CCDA, and ITIL v3
