What you will do:

Our Continuous Improvement Manager is will lead our organization through the CI journey.  The will work with multiple improvement strategies such as Six Sigma and Lean methodology.  They will work to apply principles that will monitor and offer insight to needed improvement processes within our organization.  They must establish and drive a culture of continuous process improvement throughout the Johnson Controls.  They are the lead for continuous improvement activities and will partner with leadership to ensure operational efficiency.

 

Working under the framework of Johnson Controls Continuous Improvement system, he/she will assess current state performance, identify gaps, visualize and establish a plan to get to the future state, monitor progress and share/acquire best-in-class ideas and systems.  It’s a fantastic opportunity to help lead a team that ensures compliance and delivers best-in-class programs and results.

 

How you will do it:

·       Implement Flow/Lean manufacturing practices measured through reduced cycle time and improved inventory turns.

·       Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives for cost reductions in warranty, scrap and quality.

·       Introduce capital projects and administer budget and planning per AOP.

·       Address capacity demands and resource allocation per product line.

·       Promote working relationships and communications with all Departments.

·       Operate within budget and contribute to the overall reduction of overhead and expenses.

·       Comply with EEO and AAP goals and employee development by promoting training activities and opportunities for all employees.

·       Serve as the primary interface for customer’s visits and inspections.

·       Maintain the Employee Suggestion Program.


What we look for

Requirements

·       Five Years leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment with normal mechanical and analytical ability. 

·       Past experience and demonstrated performance in a related position may qualify in lieu of B.S. Degree.

·       Must have good communications skills. 

·       Computer literate in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

·       The above description covers the most significant duties performed but does not exclude other occasional work assignments necessitated by business reasons which may affect production/operations to some degree.           

Physical Factors

·       Moderate physical demand which requires standing and walking.

·       The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 40 pounds. 

·       Must be mentally prepared to follow a plan and to react and cope with problems and make decisions as problems occur.

·       Lifting (moderate), Standing (frequently), Walking (frequently), Climbing (occasional), Judgment (frequently).

·       Must understand and follow safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures. 

·       Work from written and oral instructions.

·       Vision corrected to 20/20.

·       Must be able to learn, think, concentrate, interact with others, speak, handle stress and exercise self-control (all or each separately may range from occasional to constant).

·       Manufacturing – Exposure to noise and dirt
