What you will do

As Procurement Manager, you will be accountable for managing all operational procurement activities for Johnson Controls Italy leading and managing the procurement operations, implementing procurement strategies, driving procurement optimization and efficiency. The position is likely to suit a dynamic team player with a ‘can do’ attitude, responsible for the retention of the business and continuous improvement of the performance.

How you will do it

  • Manage processes and procedures governing the procurement of materials from the right suppliers, at the right price, quality and delivery requirements to support the installation and service activities in Italy
  • Manages identification of potential suppliers and existing key suppliers and evaluates suppliers to ensure optimal supplier network
  • Leads the commercial negotiation and re-negotiation of a range of contracts in line with good practice and corporate directives
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal customers
  • Manage and develop an inspired, diverse team across a multi-site / location environment
  • Institute and monitor appropriate controls to ensure processes and procedures are performed in a compliant manner
  • Develop appropriate dashboards, metrics and measures to identify ongoing areas for improvement across all facets of the Procurement operation
  • Continually seek, identify and implement efficiency improvements in line with strategic direction and compliance boundaries
  • Create and manage sourcing pipeline and deliver targeted savings
  • Participate to the development, improvement and standardization of material purchase processes
  • Analyzes contractual data and benchmarks, participates in defining target prices for annual contracts and their renewal
  • Supervises and executes the sourcing of suppliers, defining and monitoring relevant geographical areas and macroeconomic variables
  • Evaluates market trends and negotiates offers for the provision of materials
  • Supervises the collection and consolidation of forecasts and orders, ensures raw material provision, optimizing the strategic balance between purchases and stock levels
  • Proposes and supports the introduction of new materials to guarantee cost-effectiveness and reliable supply, supporting the transition.

What we look for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related fields; MBA desirable
  • Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in sourcing, procurement materials management or supply chain management
  • Experience in leading teams
  • High level of customer orientation
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal
  • Well-developed negotiation skills
  • Working knowledge of procure to pay applications and processes
  • Familiarity with lean / six sigma techniques.
