What you will do:
 

The Program Manager-Field Operations, Building Solutions position is part of our Headquarters support organization for our North America Field Leadership Team at Johnson Controls.  This position will support and drive moderately complex improvement and transformational projects that support our HVAC, Fire and Security Businesses in the field.


We are looking for an extremely organized individual with experiential knowledge of program management and change facilitation processes in large matrixed organizations.  Must be capable of managing multiple stakeholder groups, including senior and field leadership, to ensure and support the creation of process and systems, and implementation strategies.  Maintains control of schedule, cost, quality, and customer expectations/satisfaction at all times. 


 Presents to management and/or customers on project updates, project cycle, and expected results. Ensures projects are closed on time and in scope. 

Will not manage products but projects, programs, and processes, technical information, success measurements, and peer groups in support of BSNA strategies and initiatives.  Initiatives support our operational discipline, role clarity, and growth culture platforms.


How you will do it


Under general direction, leads all aspects of the one or more programs for the BSNA Field Operations Team.  Requires knowledge of project/program management techniques. Excellent analytical skills with an ability to apply a balanced understanding of all business elements. Excellent communication skills including negotiation and leadership skills. Efficient utilization of resources and skills through effective planning and leadership in the program matrix organization. Requires intimate knowledge of business plans, strategies, and technology skills.

  • Methodology - Understanding of Project Management Institute's  (PMI) methodology and key knowledge areas; Integration, Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Human Resources, Communications, Risk and Procurement Management.
  • Communication/Coordination - Responsible for communication and status reporting to project staff, customer and Johnson Controls management.  Responsible for work plan, managing project resources, duty assignment, responsibilities, scope of authority and provides technical advice and problem resolution to all aspects of project.
  • Fiscal - Responsible for tracking projects expenditures and installation progress through reviews of status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules of plans as required. Maintains full financial accountability to project; requires ability to forecast financial trends across project, ability to understand internal Johnson Controls and external client cost structures and integrate, or translate to/from Johnson Controls accounting methodology using AIA standards.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  1. Serves as a resource for all levels of reporting on programs within the Field Operations PMO.  Maintains and manages team documentation, and capable of hosting regular program updates to different user groups.
  2. Conduct business analytics to measure and report key success metrics.  Identifies, collects, disseminates, and interprets metrics related to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as established by Enterprise leadership to enable more informed decision making.
  3. Execute operations programs within BSNA Field, with follow-up on ROI metrics.  Will host any related training events, workshop planning/execution, and other change management activities using the same program management rigor used in good program management practices.
  4. Build relationships within the enterprise to facilitate change management and share best business practices.
  5. Other duties as assigned.

What we look for:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree, strongly MBA preferred
  • 7 years related experience in program (preferred) or product management, marketing, or sales is required. 
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and OneNote
  • Demonstrated expertise in SharePoint Site Development and Management. 
  • Previous experience with data analysis and BI required.
  • Location: Milwaukee
