What you will do

SimplexGrinnell is a global leader in the design, manufacture, installation, and service of a comprehensive array of networked and integrated fire alarm and suppression, security, and communications systems. Our continued success and growth has produced a need for an intern position in our Orlando, FL location.

 

This internship is designed to provide you with a positive work/training experience and challenging objectives. Specific identified internship responsibilities are outlined below.

 

How you will do it: 

The primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate fast turn work, assist the project manager in ordering/tracking and receiving equipment, scheduling of manpower, project performance, and documentation for a specific portfolio of projects, and other duties as assigned. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

• Establishing and maintaining point of contact on assigned projects
• Coordinate delivery of installation documents & drawings
• Ordering all equipment & materials for the project, including processing equipment returns
• Coordinate delivery of equipment to the job site
• Support for accounts receivable, lien releases , notice to owners
• Assist in the scheduling of sub-contractors for sub-contractor installed projects
• Timely invoicing of projects
• Coordinate delivery of close-out documents
• Coordination of Permitting Process
• Creation of purchase orders for third party material and subcontractors
• Procurement and verification of project schedules

• Completion of certified payroll documents

• Completion of closeout documents 

 

Duration: This will be a part-time internship starting immediately. Qualified candidates must be attending school in the Orlando, FL area and available to work 12-15 hours/week.

What we look for

Required Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university
  • Located in the greater Orlando, FL area and available to start working immediately
  • Available to work 12-15 hours/ week during semesters and full-time during the summer
  • U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, EXCEL, Power Point
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
