What you will do:

The Talent Acquisition Center of Expertise is responsible for all hires globally, across all business units and corporate, and at all levels. The team works as advisors about the internal and external talent labor markets to the business and HR teams. We’re a forward-looking team, leaning on relationships and fueled by data. As a contract recruiter on our team, you report to a talent acquisition (TA) manager and are responsible the full life-cycle of recruiting for a specific function or business group.  To deliver on this objective, you prioritize the urgency and importance of your requisition load and build pipelines of qualified candidates for critical roles.  You also work closely with you manager, hiring managers, and HR business partners to develop and execute tactical sourcing strategies aimed at generating candidate flow that meets diversity and overall recruiting goals. In addition, you support our talent attraction programs by owning the responsibility for recruiting from a specific university campus, and support military and diversity recruiting events as needed.

**Please note, this is an opportunity for a recruiting contract at Johnson Controls. Selected candidates will be hired through a third-party organization.

You are an agile communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills, understand your audience, and can quickly adapt to meet the needs of differing audiences. You believe the best work is done in teams, and you seek to collaborate with peers to support their activities and accomplish organization-level goals. You hold peers accountable for commitments, but demonstrate loyalty to the team through competent delivery and approachability. You’re analytical, considering data from multiple sources & relationships, can identify links between dissimilar data sets, and draw conclusions & assumptions that will best benefit the business.

  • Understand and execute talent acquisition process, and meet service-level  agreement expectations
  • Educate yourself on your functional or business responsibility, and identify and engage key relationships
  • Set expectations and good communication habits with customers
  • Identify priority / critical roles within your functional business responsibility, build a sourcing strategy / recruiting plan for each functional area, present the plan / gain support from stakeholders, and execute the plan.
  • Establish yourself as a brand ambassador for Johnson Controls, and create business-team brand ambassadors within each area of functional recruiting responsibility


What we look for:


  • University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Years minimum experience
  • Competence in developing digital candidate sourcing strategies
  • Knowledge of recruiting & staffing laws, including OFCCP and VEVRAA
  • Technology aptitude - experience with Taleo (ATS), Avature (CRM), LinkedIn Recruiter, and other direct sourcing tools
  • Foundational understanding of the Boolean search language, and how those search principles apply to both internet and database searches
