What you will do
 

The primary focus of this role is to manage our legacy site remediation projects at our Marinette, Wisconsin facility.  The individual in this role will be a subject matter expert on site remediation, will lead a team, both internal and external, to manage environmental soil & groundwater remediation projects and work across the company to ensure activities are in compliance with all regulations and standards. This role will report to the Vice President of Environment, Health and Safety. Potential opportunity to expand into regional or global role down the road.

 
 
 
How you will do it
 
  • Lead a team of professionals, both internal and external, to manage large scale environmental remediation project  
  • Provide financial reporting and technical leadership
  • Ensure all projects undergoing remediation have a master plan and are performing to plan
  • Partner with multiple parties including, Legal, Finance, Communications and site EHS teams to develop and execute strategic plans for remediation and coordinate remediation efforts
  • Maintain reserve balances in compliance with internal and external reporting requirements
  • Translate complex requirements to business leaders and help them leverage that information to make effective strategic business and compliance decisions
  • Build and maintain strong, credible relationships with regulatory agencies, trade associations and customers and leverage those relationships to support the company strategy
  • Communicate with peers and management across the company to transfer information and best practices that support and promote effective and efficient compliance and risk management

What we look for
 
Required
  • 10+ years of proven experience and a track record of leading remediation and environmental programs, thereby creating increased awareness, heightened standards, and improved performance at individual site locations and enterprise-wide
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, chemical engineering or other relevant field; a Master’s degree is preferred
  • Strong technical & financial skills and experience in environmental site remediation is required
  • Demonstrated ability to present technical topics at various public meetings
  • Experience in managing site remediation programs at large and complex sites a must, experience across multiple regulatory jurisdictions preferred
  • Experience in interacting with public officials and public interest groups
  • Ability to lead and direct in a highly matrix, team-oriented environment
  • Passionate and enthusiastic about addressing environmental concerns/issues
  • Ability to influence, lead independently, and exercise good judgment
  • Ability to multi-task, be detail oriented, accurate, analytical and act with a sense of urgency when needed
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including the ability to professionally communicate with a wide variety of individuals, respond to inquiries, and provide feedback in a timely manner
 
  • A strong business perspective that includes the ability to work with all levels of the company, including site personnel as well as senior management
 
  • An excellent understanding of relevant laws, regulations and governance requirements on the United States federal and state levels, plus an understanding of international environmental programs
 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement new strategic initiatives
 
  • High-level of leadership skills, as well as interpersonal characteristics reflecting uncompromising integrity, results-orientation, a collaborative style, a commitment to talent development, and a highly positive attitude
