What you will do


In this role, you get to develop what matters most – our people and organizations.  As an integral part of the Global Talent Center of Excellence, this position will have responsibility for creating learning solutions and programs for a variety for Johnson Controls.  In this role you will partner with Senior HR Business Partners and Senior Business Leaders to accelerate stronger business performance by providing learning solutions that are aligned to the business strategy. 

 

How you will do it

  • Effectively identify training needs through organizational analysis, process and performer level analysis. Document findings, develop actionable recommendations to address performance gaps and propose appropriate learning solutions
  • Partner with Regional OE leaders and HR solutions team members to design appropriate, scalable solutions that can be implemented easily
  • Design, develop and implement training programs and blended learning solutions applying adult learning theory. Facilitate classroom, web, and video based training sessions. Consult with executives and subject matter experts to develop learning solutions for new and existing programs.
  • Develops instructional materials in classroom and electronic learning formats. Design, develop and implement blended learning solutions including classroom training, online training, skill assessments, and learning tools applying the principles of adult learning. Interviews and consults with executives and subject matter experts to support learning objectives of business units and to accommodate corporate goals. Analyzes and selects the most appropriate strategy, methodology, and technology to maximize learning experience and impact. Design learning pathways to build competency, including leadership development.
  • Delivers training utilizing appropriate instructional methods. Facilitates learning via classroom, webinar, and video conference. Manages training calendars & class registrations via Learning Management System. Prepares classroom facilities and training materials for training sessions.
  • Plans and implements training projects and tactics. Develops action plans and project calendars. Manages resources including vendors and internal partners. Monitors and communicates progress. Control and properly manage operating resources to achieve business objectives. Effectively communicate and coordinate with other operations and all staff functions. Develops learning business plans and budgets.
  • Integrate Talent COE and Enterprise priorities (e.g., Leadership Essentials, culture and diversity and inclusion) into learning programs
  • Facilitate learning community of practice teams across HR and manage external consultants on a project basis
  • Travel requirements up to 20%

Looks for ways to simplify and bring order to complex, chaotic and unpredictable activities. Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency and develops plans, success measures and timelines for tasks. Anticipates activities required to help people accept and absorb change. Can execute across Johnson Controls.
  • Problem Solving: Defines problems systematically, analyzing causes and effects both qualitatively and quantitatively.  Seeks out others as sources of data, ideas and help. Asks penetrating questions to surface hidden problems and discern fact patterns. Recognizes the broader issues to simplify analyses and execute timely decisions or actions.  Challenges HR partners and business leaders to view issues from multiple perspectives and continuously develop.

Education / Work Experience Required:

  • More than 10 years of HR experience, 4-7 in learning roles
  • Experience in large, complex organizations required
  • Strong leadership skills required, including proven ability to influence leaders and facilitate cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with internal customers and positively influence key constituents.
  • Ability to lead and manage large projects and a portfolio of projects
