About this role:

As the Payroll Officer you will work closely with with the Payroll Manager to ensure payroll processes are aligned to country regulatory requirements and underpinned by the business's goals & objectives. 

The responsibilities includes:

  • End to end weekly, fortnightly, monthly payroll processing using Chris21 for up to 1000 staff
  • Compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages and reporting outputs;
  • Determining payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income, social security taxes, employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments;
  • Resolving payroll discrepancies;
  • Set up of new starters
  • Update and align standard operating models including payroll report formats, tasked checklists, payroll calendars etc.
  • Month end and year end processes;
  • Accurate and timely submission of Single Touch Payroll for all employees;
  • Liaises directly with third party vendor/s in managing of business relationship role that ensures smooth & timely delivery of all operating payroll’s.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in a Payroll function role
  • Experience working within a Union Collective environment.
  • Multi-Company + Multi-State operation would be very highly regarded.
  • Time management / flexibility approach in set tasks;
  • Ability to work autonomously / take ownership of designated tasks;
  • Experience in the handling of an Outsourced Operation will be highly regarded;
