What you will do

In this role, your primary responsibility will be as a key resource and quality leader in support of a 1.5M+ value stream manufacturing high-quality fire safety products.

How you will do it
  • Advises on, supervises, and performs administrative and technical work primarily concerned with the assurance and inspection of material, products, and processes for conformance with established specifications and standards; and for compliance with regulatory specifications and standards.
  • Reviews, modifies and approved Operational Description Sheets for production stability.
  • Works with supporting departments to develop and maintain PFMEAs, control plans and PPAPs/PAPSOs
  • Conducts quality control (QC) inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc., at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards.
  • Captures and analyzes statistical data from processes to either confirm compliance with established standards or identify deviations from standards.
  • Recommends new or enhanced methods, procedures and standards. Require technical or managerial knowledge and ability, plus a practical knowledge of quality assurance and control concepts and systems.
  • Provides work leadership and training to ensure policies, practices, and procedures are understood and adhered to.
  • Resolves quality issues by conferring with management and other departments.
  • Develops and maintains departmental processes and Quality standards.
  • Plans or develops applications or modifications for products or systems to improve and drive Quality performance.
  • Manage and support QA technicians as direct reports

ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH, AND SAFETY OBLIGATIONS
  • Comply with the following Environmental, Health and Safety duties as a condition of employment:
  • Comply with EHS rules.
  • Lead the work area with a safe culture mindset.
  • Support employees in their decision to shut down unsafe or environmentally damaging equipment or processes.
  • Ensure completion of EHS training by all Employees.
  • Participate actively in the safety process.
  • Ask questions if something isn’t known.
  • Initiate an investigation on all accidents and injuries immediately.
  • Submit suggestions to improve EHS and take action on suggestions submitted by employees.
  • Act as emergency management coordinator for meeting locations and shelter areas. Initiate accountability in the event of an emergency. (i.e. what to do in the event of an alarm for fire, chemical spills, tornados, etc.).
  • Be a coach to others who are acting unsafely.
  • Ensure the completion of all hazardous and non-hazardous waste trainings.
  • Ability to recognize deficiencies in chemical labeling.
  • Coordination in minor spill management and clean-up.
  • Capability to enforce satellite accumulation rules and requirements.
  • Proficiency to recognize hazardous wastes in your area and manage properly

What we look for
Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical studies is strongly preferred. Associates degree can be considered for candidates with 2+ additional years of targeted experience
  • 6+ years’ experience in a direct quality focused role in a manufacturing setting
  • Proven ability to solve problems using analytical tools and methodologies
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills to generate process instructions and reports.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and experience including documentation of meeting minutes, creation and tracking of action items, and monitoring on-going progress
