What you will do

The Global Integrated Supply Chain team is focused on end-to-end logistics, which includes suppliers, strategic sourcing procurement, manufacturing, and transportation.  Intern roles will be assigned to functional areas to support projects resulting from strategic initiatives.   

We have a variety of summer 2020 internship positions open in our various manufacturing plants. Locations include:

  • San Antonio, TX
  • Port Arthur, TX
  • Marinette WI
  • Norman, OK
  • Louisville, KY
  • Ponca City, OK
  • Tarboro, NC
  • Plano, TX
  • Sanford, KS
  • Wichita, KS
How you will do it
  • Provide statistical support to continuous improvement practitioners
  • Improve plant data collection techniques and workbooks, i.e. Operator Scrap Collection Logs, Supervisor Production Log, Quality Scrap Collection Log
  • Order project materials for continuous improvement projects
  • Track Project Timelines
  • Technical programming; PLC Logic and Data Base if intern has basic skills
  • Conceive, investigate, evaluate, and makes recommendations for new equipment, tooling and processes to improve safety, reliability, capacity and reduce costs. 
  • Develop and collect data to drive decision making. 
  • Manage equipment installations. 
  • Manage project schedules using Microsoft project. 
  • Maintain and improve existing equipment by working with Maintenance, Supervision and Material Control. 
  • Support plant shutdowns. 
  • Reduce breakdowns and downtime by implementing preventative maintenance schedules. 
  • Lead and/or participate in Health, Safety, Environmental, Production, Material Control, 6 Sigma DMAIC and R&D project teams. 
  • Write weekly activity and project reports, develop action plans, and generate work instructions, test procedures and other documentation to support production operations. 
  • Utilize systematic problem solving and data collection to Identify and resolve problems, including driving cost and downtime reduction.

What we look for

Required Qualifications – Education, Skills & Experience

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at an accredited U.S. college or university
  • Graduating in December 2020 or later
  • Pursuing degree in industrial, manufacturing, quality, mechanical, electrical or packaging engineering
  • Skilled use of MS Office Tools: Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.

  • Effective and professional communication and organization skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Spreadsheet creation and data analysis
  • Ability to perform data analysis as required
  • Develop, prepare and present summary reports
