This is a Virtual Role with up to 80% of travel (domestic).

Reporting to JCI Industrial Construction managers- The PM will manage construction projects throughout the United States and some International Job projects with contract values from 500,000 to 20,000,000 dollars. The Project manager will take an ownership role of his assigned projects from the sales turn over phase to the client turn over phase and manage all aspects of the project The project manager will be the key leader of executing our projects within the financial budgets, meeting schedules and exceeding customer expectations.

How you will do it

• Daily reports must be generated by the PM if on site. If PM is not on site then the onsite foreman needs to provide these to the PM. Do not get behind on these reports.
• Track install progress (QURR and Highlighted DWG) and notify upper management if there is a potential for overruns on the project. Do this early enough to allow management to come up with a plan to change this.
• Confirm the drawings the installers are using have the necessary information on them to do the install. If not send back to the design manager ASAP to get them corrected.
• Make sure we have a copy of signed safety tool box meetings. Should be done daily.
• Protect the company/contract by confirming we are doing what we are contractually obligated to do.
• Pursue change orders when doing something outside of our scope of work. Do not proceed with work without customer authorization.
• Prepare and keep project schedule updated.
• Prepare / provide inspection and test documents (close out docs) for fitters / installers to fill out when they do the testing and commissioning. PM may have to assist and or provide training for onsite personal.
• Confirm all material received is accounted for and organized. Should be counted for when received so that any shortages can be taken care of immediately.
• Confirm installers have a reasonable lay down area for their material and tools.
• Confirm all tools / lifts etc. required for the job are available and organized.
• Make a list of everything you will need for the jobsite trailer.
• Be sure all lifts, rental equipment and or tools are returned in a timely manner when finished with them.
• Confirm the fitters or technicians have marked up any changes to the drawings then provide them to the design manager to have the as-built done.
• Confirm that all QA/QC documentation is completed as per contractual requirements.
• Confirm all RFI’s incoming and outgoing have been logged and addressed.
• Provide construction manager with monthly invoicing in a timely manner.
• Create an SOV (itemized by install labor, design, material, testing/commissioning) and any other contract documents necessary per the specification.
• Confirm the CTC and SOV face values match.
• Attend jobsite meetings.
• Introduce the local office if necessary so they can work on getting the PMA.

What we look for
Required


• 3 to 5 years of industry experience with construction project management experience.
• Fire protection experience a plus, but not necessary for the right individual.
• Project Management experience with a proven track record.
At least 4 years previous related experience managing staff, customers and contractors
Experience in preparing reports and presentations for upper management regarding status of project.
• Up to 80% of travel - various locations domestically.
• Must be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Computer literate—Windows Applications with emphasis in spreadsheets.
• Excellent written/verbal communication and outstanding customer service skills are necessary.
