What you will do
In this role, you will work as an integral part of the Systems Integration Services team, embedded in the new European Engineering Center (EEC). The EEC is an extension of the Global Controls product organization and is primarily focused on building and sustaining a market-winning portfolio of products for the European market. As Software Engineer, you will support our Controls system integration with other components/solutions. She/he will analyze, specify, design, estimate and develop integration and custom advanced applications into our Metasys system or any other Johnson Controls solutions.

 
How you will do it

  • Specify, design and implement solutions based on Building Automation standard protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, OPC UA, KNX and others protocols
  • Manage applications and solutions related to system integration, connectivity and advanced applications such as Web Services as well our Database system
  • Test installation and support developments that can be either done in our lab or on site in coordination with our branches
  • Support NBUs and our branches on both existing and new integration technology as well as custom applications and solutions
  • Create of technical documentation and training material
  • Provide technical and sales support, training and presentations or field engineers and customers
  • Coordinate monthly executive projects reviews and interfaces with all levels of Management on all aspects of Planning, Scheduling, Organizing, Directing and Controlling of their respective Program/Projects
  • Work closely with Product Management, Engineering and Supply Chain organizations to develop solutions
  • Establish and maintain an effective system of communication throughout the other existing JCI Engineering centers, the Program Management organizations as well as with our Program Stakeholder’s
  • Follow all Health & Safety and Environmental requirements
  • Apply, execute and maintain function related quality issues complying with Global Design Process

What we look for

  • Master degree in SW Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  • 2-5 years’ experience in the development of software applications
  • The successful candidate will be able to develop from low to high level Integration / applications using the following current software technologies as: C,C++, .NET (dot Net), C# (C Sharp) as well as SQL and databases management
  • Knowledge of Web and mobile development languages (JavaScript, Angular and others)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Problem solving attitude and capability to report critical situations where project execution can be potentially effected on financial/technical issues
  • Team player, able to integrate his activities in complex, multinational and multicultural project teams
  • International outlook and willing to travel abroad occasionally on business (up to 25% of the time)
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Methodical and structural approach to tasks
  • Flexible, resilient, able to adapt rapidly and successfully to changes
  • Fluent oral and written English is a must; Italian would be an advantage
