What you will do


The Sr. Accounting Analyst performs a diverse set of accounting functions in support of the Payroll Organization. The position is responsible for ensuring the integrity of all payroll activities from an accounting perspective in accordance with GAAP.  This individual is also the primary Payroll interface with the Finance Team in Monterey, Mexico.  The position also represents Payroll on cross – functional business teams, generates value – added business and financial analysis for senior management review.  In addition, the Sr. Accounting Analyst works independently with Fidelity Investments to manage the 401K interfaces directly.

 

How you will do it


§  Prepare specialized payroll reporting- i.e.; payroll distribution, Commission payments, 401K reporting by entity, and specialized month end reports.  This position independently initiates wire transfers/AP requests for payment of monthly US and Canada Union Payments.
§  Responsible for weekly 401K and other retirement program funding reconciliation to track variances between amounts processed and sent to Fidelity.  Reports diagnosis of variance issues and problems that may occur within the current process to immediate supervisor.  Prepares weekly funding request.
§  Prepare accounting journal entries for various payroll related processes and transactions. Also reviews and approves journal entries submitted by accounting clerk.
§  Responsible for the preparation of exercised stock options and vested stock files of payroll information to be processed by the processing team.  Also responsible for preparing other miscellaneous earnings load for timely processing.  (Dividends, FICA SERP, Share Payments)
§  SOx compliance – Interfacing with internal and external auditors and reviewing key controls, business process walkthroughs and testing.
§  Responsible for the Escheatment process of payroll and garnishment checks.
§  Prepare adhoc requests for payroll information as requested
§  Provide annual audit information and reconciliation for 401K/SSRP/Mercer Wages/Worker’s Comp
§  Special Projects as assigned by Manager


What we look for

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred

·         3+ years previous payroll accounting experience

·         Payroll experience preferred and ability to work with all levels

·         Advanced MS Excel skills

·         Ability to maintain confidentiality,  handle large volumes of transactions and work in deadline driven environment

·         Ability to perform or be trained to perform the proceeding tasks in a satisfactory manner is implied within each specific task statement and ability to work in a team environment and participate as an active team member.
