What you will do

As our Regional Strategic Account Manager for the Life Sciences Industry, you will lead a select number of strategic account customers and their complex projects across Continental Europe. You will build customer relationships and create and execute on the strategic account plan. As such, you will work in partnership with the in-country sales teams to drive strategic account sales with a select group of target customers. In this role, you act as the single point of contact for the customer and drive account growth across all Johnson Controls domains. You drive opportunities and follow them through to execution through solid engagement with our operational teams. You also develop the customer value proposition of Smart Buildings by offering safe, energy efficient and cost efficient solutions to grow the market and the business in the direction of the larger solution portfolio of Johnson Controls.

You are responsible for following the strategic account management processes and coordinating the development, promotion and deployment of appropriate account sales strategies for growth. You will be responsible for coordinating and aligning with local Johnson Controls teams.  Finally, you also lead the deployment of sales excellence initiatives for the account in order to ensure successful growth.   

 

How you will do it

  • You lead the Account Plan creation for assigned accounts and push for growth, along with assessing their regional setup. This involves the coordination of all account management processes and actions with the countries and - where needed - with other regional account managers and the global account team
  • You leverage account knowledge across the countries in order to obtain the desired business results
  • You install a life cycle management culture along with a high value proposition offering culture to your assigned accounts and support a widespread service culture
  • Together with the European management, you define the necessary resources for the account business support
  • You identify winning factors and solutions/ applications with unique business value for each account and define how to extend our portfolio. You build up the right business model and involve other departments for further support
  • You develop account value proposition offerings in terms of energy as well as cost efficiency and smart buildings to grow the market and the business in the direction of our large solution portfolio
  • You drive country offerings for the accounts towards a large portfolio offering in order to answer to the ever-growing needs in terms of energy efficiency and new security/ safety technologies
  • By also fostering an understanding the business needs, customer processes and applications, you extend our solution portfolio in major accounts step by step
  • Your travel amount will be up to 50% 

What we look for

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration
  • Solid experience with track record in international business management with proven capabilities in business development, sales strategy and sales excellence
  • Sales experience in the building or infrastructure industry with medium to large projects and service contracts
  • Pan-European business experience & network, fluent English and German language skills for direct account contact (another European language is a plus)
  • Excellent business development capabilities
  • Ability to build a strong internal network and as a recognized sales strategy expert
  • Ability to develop and maintain high-level commercial relations
  • Impactful and influential working style without formal leadership relations
  • Knowledge of the Life Sciences market is preferred
