What you will do

Johnson Controls has an immediate part-time internship position open on our total rewards team located in Milwaukee, MI. This internship is designed to provide you with a positive work/training experience and challenging objectives. The candidate must be in the greater Milwaukee area and able to work 15-20 hours during the week and then additional full-time hours during the summer. Specific identified internship responsibilities are outlined below.

 

How you will do it: 

• Conducts data and policy integrity audits to ensure accurate data and the correct use of company policies

• Creates reports for HR leaders by analyzing data from multiple HRIS instances. Delivers reports to assist HR Leaders with determining future business

• Assists in market survey participation such as gathering and preparing compensation data for submission

• Gathers information to assist in geographic analysis and salary administration projects

• Assists in basic position evaluations using an established market pricing system, comparing the positions to internal and external references.  Works with others to determine grades and prepares supporting documentation on the validity of the evaluations.

• Learns how to interview supervisors, managers, and/or directors to gather job content information for drafting new or revising existing position descriptions into standardized format.  Matches positions to industry surveys and prepares market pricing summary data.

• Assists with administering annual Salary Planning program and on-going administration of related personnel action changes.

• Compiles compensation, position and performance history data for use in preparing internal salary offers.  

• Assists with updating internal websites

• Performs and provides support to other compensation studies or projects as required.

What we look for

Required Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university
  • Pursuing a degree in a HR, finance or related program
  • Located in the greater Milwaukee area and available to work 15-20 hours/week
  • Ability to handle confidential information and sensitive issues.
  • Strong computer and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint). 
  • U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
 Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrates an ability to learn quickly and independently.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Detail oriented
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills required
